Bio
Chris Zablocki out of Essex, Conn. is a graduate of Xavier HIgh School, Middletown. He participated in cross country and track for four years and competed at three state championships in 2005. In 2004 and 2005, Zablocki was named All South Coast Conference in cross country and in 2005 again for track, he was named All State for the steeplechase and the 3200m race.
Zablocki has also served on student government and was a member of the National Honor Society.
While at Dartmouth Zablocki plans on studying History, Engineering, or Geography with tentative plans in Writing and Education. His parents are Richard and Maryann Zablocki and he has two brothers and two sisters.

Why Dartmouth: Dartmouth has the best team, best trails, and best academics out of all the colleges I know of.
How long have you been cross country and what got you interested in cross country: I started xc freshman year in high school. During tryouts I went 0-6 in 1 v. 1's but lapped almost everyone in the 2 mile run in tryouts, so I did what made sense. And I also simply find running fast through the forest a very positive experience.
Have you won any academic or cross country awards recently: During the '08 XC season, earned all-region honros at the NCAA Northeast Regional race. During lat spring's track season, scored in the Heptagonal steeplechase, qualified for the NCAA East Regional meet in the steeplechase, and earned earned a spot on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I All-Academic Track and Field Team.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates: I eat a couple pounds of apple-cinnamon oatmeal with grapenuts every day for breakfast
What are your future plans, if any: I would like to either get a business or teaching internship in Germany after I graduate. I am also thinking about joining the Coast Guard.
