Q & A with Dwayne
Why Dartmouth?
I chose Dartmouth because at Dartmouth, I could receive a great education but also compete at the highest level of competition in the NCAA on a very competitive team with a long standing history as a distance running powerhouse.
How long have you been running cross country and what got you interested in cross country?
I've been running cross country competitively since 7th grade. At that point I made the switch from soccer because my middle school coach thought I could be the best middle schooler in New York City.
Have you won any academic or cross country awards recently?
I have not won any cross country awards recently, but in High School, I was an All-State selection in New York State and was listed in Harrier High School Running Magazine as a top fifty recruit in the United States, along with my current teammate, Tom Robbins, in 2007.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I am the first person in my family to attend a four year college.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan on pursuing a masters degree in education and teaching at the early childhood and elementary school level.
