Senior (2015): Captain …played in all 13 games as a senior, starting all but one … netted six goals and tallied eight assists for 14 points … had a five-point performance (1G, 4A) in the 18-9 victory over UMass Lowell on April 21 … led the team with 101 ground balls … went 140-for-224 on the face-off … second in the conference in ground balls and third in face-offs … broke his own single-game records for both ground balls and face-offs three times throughout the season, most recently against UMass Lowell (19 ground balls, 22-for-25 in face-offs) … tied for second on the team with 15 caused turnovers… First Team All-Ivy … Ivy League Co-Player of the Week (March 23) … Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week (March 24) … NEILA All-New England Second Team for midfield and in face-offs … USILA Scholar All-American.
Junior (2014): Captain … appeared in all 12 games throughout his junior season, including six Ivy League contests … scored one goal and tallied three assists for four points … his lone goal of the year was scored against Hartford on April 8 … was first on the team with his 60 ground balls … went 109-for-225 on faceoffs.
Sophomore (2013): Hession had a breakout season during his second year on campus, setting a single season program record with 94 ground balls … appeared in all 14 games with nine starts … went 129-for-273 on faceoffs … scored five goals and had two assists .… won the team's Dud Hendrick Award and Blue Collar Award … scooped a season-high 15 ground balls against No. 15 Hofstra … had one multi-goal game … had nine or more ground balls in three contests … scored first collegiate goal against Robert Morris on Mar. 9 … caused 18 turnovers.
Freshman (2012): Played in all 14 games for the Big Green … grabbed eight ground balls and caused five turnovers … was the only first-year player to see action in every game … finished the season with one assist in the victory over Penn … won the Jenkins C. Marshall 1984 Award (Most Outstanding First-Year Player).
Before Dartmouth: Competed at Noble & Greenough during his prep career … earned 10 varsity letters, including four in soccer, three in basketball and three in lacrosse … was captain of all three teams his senior season … honorable mention All-ISL … named the Nobles Shield Most Respected Male Athlete his senior year.
Personal: Philip James Hession is the son of Paul and Janet Hession … has two brothers.
