Bio
Why Dartmouth?
I always knew that I wanted to go a school with a strong sense of community, an international focus, and most importantly, a commitment to undergraduate education. Choosing Dartmouth was a no-brainer. There's nowhere else quite like it.
How long have you been sailing and what got you interested in sailing?
I began sailing when I was nine years old after my mother encouraged me to try it out. Although I sailed for two years on my high school's team, my racing experience was relatively limited when I decided to walk on to the team here. I've thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of becoming an intercollegiate sailor.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
As a fifth-grader, I sang in my school's select chorus.
What are your future sailing and career plans?
Time will tell. For now, I'm just focused on doing the best I can do at whatever it is I try.
What sports or activities did you pursue in high school, and what do you hope to continue at Dartmouth?
I gave up competitive sailing after my sophomore year to fully dedicate my time to my high school's newspaper. I worked in a variety of editorial roles, eventually becoming co-editor-in-chief at the end of my junior year. I was also heavily involved with numerous Democratic political campaigns in Fairfield County, volunteering my time during election season over three consecutive years. While I have been able to work with the College Democrats here at Dartmouth, I hope to find the time to write for a publication again in the future.
