Coach Vogt on Gleason: "Offensively we look for Ashley to build on the momentum that she finished last season with. Last year she emerged as one of our top consistent, clutch hitters. In 2006, Ashley filled in for injured Molly Chafe at short stop. Ashley plays with a quiet intensity between the lines and we look for her to step into more of a leadership role. Ashley should see time at third base as well as in the pitching circle." 2009: Earned her first collegiate All-Ivy award with a second team nod … Named the team's MVP … Played in all 46 games and batted .287 … In league games she was second in hitting with a .347 average … Led the team in hitting in Ivy games and racked up 43 overall … Led squad with 12 doubles for a career-high … Had 17 extra-base hits including a career-high five home runs … Had two games where she racked up three hits … Against Princeton she was 3-for-6 with one run scored and six RBIs. 2008: Suffered an injury late in the season, missing 14 games ... In her first weekend back against Harvard she notched five hits including a double that knocked two home as Dartmouth swept the Crimson ... Went 2-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI in the third game against Harvard ... Had two home runs on the season. 2007: Played in 31 games while making two appearances in the circle ... Had 24 hits with 16 runs...Had nine extra-base hits and was second on the team with four home runs ... Had two hits against San Jose State, Ball State, Brown, and Boston College ... Pitched in 5.2 innings with four strikeouts while giving up eight hits and 10 runs. 2006: Played in all 36 games ... Fifth with a .211 average ... Recorded 23 hits with one double and one home run. High School: One of the most decorated scholar-athletes at Newport Harbor High School ... A two-time softball captain and four-year letterwinner who also played two years of field hockey.
