Frances Battin started playing squash her sophomore year of high school and improved more her freshman year at Dartmouth than three seasons at Episopal High School. She is a solid exhibition player, but is seeing varsity action at the 10 spot this season. She is working on her lob serve, and her favorite shot is the backhand volley drop. Off court, Frances is a Government major, Spanish minor, and a windsurfer. She aspires to spark the revival of the sport after its pitiful deterioration as a result of the invention of the new "cooler" sport of kite boarding. She would like to see more younger people out on the water.
