Sophomore (2009-10): Mainly a doubles player for the Big Green, she went 8-10 overall with an 8-8 mark in dual matches ... helped the Big Green to its highest team ranking in program history ... ... teamed up with freshman Sarah Leonard throughout the season to play at the No. 2 spot ... had a huge 8-2 win to help Dartmouth to an upset win over #47 Princeton on Feb. 13 at the ECAC Indoor Championships ... traded wins and losses all season long ... won three in a row with wins over Southern NH, UMass and Utah State, then turned around and dropped three on the spring trip ... finished the Ivy season with a 3-4 mark in doubles ... went 4-4 in singles during the fall ... undefeated at the Big Green Invite ... wins over players from UNC Greensboro and UMass ... 2-4 in doubles in the fall.
Freshman (2008-09): Went 7-6 in singles play for Dartmouth in both fall and spring ... five of the seven wins came in straight sets ... finished the season with three-straight wins, coming against Quinnipiac, Wellesley and UMass Amherst ... appeared in all spots in doubles competition ... teamed with Jesse Adler at No. 2 for most of the year, the two earned seven wins, including five in a row ... had victories over Harvard, Brown and Yale in Ivy play ... won at No. 1 doubles against Wellesley.
Before Dartmouth: 2007 National Open (St. Louis) Girls 18’s Doubles Champion ... national ranking of No. 140 ... captain and No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles player for Charlotte Latin School her junior and senior year ... state high school team champions in 2005 and runners-up in 2006 ... played No. 1 doubles all four years ... named all-conference from 2004-2007 and All-State from 2005-2007 ... Bojangles’ Athlete of the Week in The Charlotte Weekly, October 19-25, 2007 ... received Coach’s Award in 2004, 2006 and 2007 ... All-Observer First Team in 2007, and All-Mecklenburg First Team in 2006 and 2007.
Personal: Carissa King was born April 9, 1990 ... daughter of Edward and Tamah King ... has one brother ... member of the National Spanish Honor Society and the Cum Laude Society at Charlotte Latin ... took second place in the regionals of Ecybermission, a science/technology competition ... received the Charlotte Latin Excellence in Musical Theater Award, 2007-2008 ... played the lead role of “Belle” in Charlotte Latin’s production of the musical, “Beauty and the Beast.”
