Q & A with Valeria
Why did you choose Dartmouth?
I came to visit the school a number of years ago and fell in love with it. Once I got offered a recruiting spot for squash there was no doubt in my mind that Dartmouth is the best possible fit for me.
How long have you been competing in track and what got you interested?
I was competing in Track since my 11th birthday until I turned 15. I haven't competed in it for a number of years now and am just starting to get back into "track" shape. I'm still not sure about what it is that got me interested. I was always a fairly tall kid and so I thought that my height could be helpful for High Jump.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
I am a walk-on on the Track team and my first sport is squash. Also, I have had a very international life so far, living in Russia, Germany, Spain, and Canada before coming to the US.
What are your future plans, if any?
Move somewhere warm :)
What extra curricular activities are you involved in on campus?
To be honest, track and squash take up so much time that there is not a lot of day left for any other activities.
