The water may have been too cold for swimming but you can be sure more than one person was tossed into the water at the conclusion of racing. Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts was the site of the men's eastern sprints and the women's Ivy championship in the age-old sport of rowing. The Big Green lightweight men qualified for the IRA Nationals by winning the petite finale while the women's second varsity eight defeated Columbia in the morning heat to advance to the grand final.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named The Richards Group Athletes of the week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Women's Rowing Second Varsity Eight
