The Dartmouth men's soccer team is rolling through the early season, thank in large part to senior Zach Kalk, who had a goal and an assist in two victories over the weekend. Senior Katie Spanos got the Big Green field hockey team into the win column with a game-winning goal in overtime at Holy Cross.
Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Cape Air Athletes of the Week.
Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Cape Air Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.
Katie Spanos, Sr., Hummelstown, Pa. , Forward, Field Hockey
The Dartmouth senior captain scored her first goal of the 2019 season Friday at Boston College, adding an assist in the game as well for a three-point afternoon. Her biggest point of the season so far, though, came two days later as she netted the overtime winner Sunday at Holy Cross. The goal was the seventh game winner of her career and pushed the Pennsylvania native into the top-10 all-time in scoring at Dartmouth with 60 points. The 2-1 win in 66 minutes of action in Worcester was the first victory of the young season for the Big Green.
