PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Dartmouth women's volleyball team dropped its second match of the weekend, falling just short at the University of Pennsylvania. The Big Green won the first game but the momentum swung the Quakers way as they took the 3-1 win.
With the loss Dartmouth falls to 9-5, 2-2 in the Ivy League while Penn improves to 6-7, 3-0 Ivy.
Dartmouth won the first game 30-26, hitting .340. Penn rallied for the second, winning easily, 30-18. In game three the Big Green fought hard but dropped a 30-20 contest. The fourth game was point for point but the Quakers prevailed, winning 32-30.
Katie Hirsch (Austin, Texas) led Dartmouth with a triple-double. She had 10 kills, 28 assists and 20 digs while Jess Thomas (Tampa, Fla.) led the team with 14 kills and added nine digs. Thomas was one of four Dartmouth players in double-figure kills. Sarah Nadler (Santa Clara, Calif.) had 13 kills and 13 digs.
Dartmouth continues on the road next weekend with Ivy tilts against Brown and Yale on Friday and Saturday. Game times are 7:00 and 4:00 pm.
