BOSTON, Mass. - In a double dual meet held at Simmons College, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team fell to both Harvard and Cornell. The Crimson downed the Big Green, 239-61, and the Big Red beat Dartmouth, 238-61.
One of the highlights of the meet was the performance of sophomore diver Andrew Berry (Middleton, Wis.), who won the 1-meter event with 283.95 points and finished fourth in 3-meter diving with 250.25 points.
Also turning in strong efforts for the Big Green were freshman Kevin Ellis (Centennial, Colo.), who was fifth in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:45.09 and fifth in the 500 yard freestyle in a time of 4:47.13. Sophomore Joe Braunreuther (South Orange, N.J.) placed fifth in the 1000 yard free in 10:06.66 and freshman Justin Slick (Erie, Pa.) was eighth in the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:03.46.
Senior Chris Mudd (Fairfax Station, Va.) finished eighth in the 100 yard backstroke in 55.77 and eighth in the 200 yard back in 1:59.41. Classmate John Reidy (Albuquerque, N.M.) took eighth in the 100 yard butterfly in 54.94 and also placed eighth in the 200 yard butterfly in 2:00.48. Senior Kemper Diehl (West Windsor, N.J.) was seventh in the 50 yard free in 22.18 and eighth in the 100 yard free in 48.72.
The Big Green will swim against Navy and Brown next Saturday, November 19, in Annapolis.
