NEW YORK, N.Y. - Dartmouth Lacrosse Goalie Andrew Goldstein has been named the CSTV: College Sports Television Student-Athlete of the Week, personifying excellence both on and off the playing field. Goldstein's honor was announced Thursday evening within CSTV's The 1 College Sports Show and will be featured on www.CSTV.com, the online component of CSTV, for the week. He is now in contention to win the CSTV Student-Athlete of the Month award, which is selected through votes cast by visitors to the CSTV.com Web site.
Last Tuesday Dartmouth saw their first win in seven meetings over #4 Maryland, giving them their first loss of the season. Goalie Andrew Goldstein made the difference, blocking 13 shots on goal with the game ending 7-6. He earned Ivy Player of the Week honors for his play. Dartmouth lost previous match-ups by an average of 10 goals. Goldstein ended last season with 7.71 goals against average and a .593 save percentage. So far this season he has allowed only 7.6 goals per game, Dartmouth currently maintains a 3-1 overall record.
Goldstein, a senior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major, was named second team All-Ivy last season. He is the son of Irwin and Sue Goldstein of Milton, Mass.
