NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior goalkeeper Andrew Goldstein (Milton, Mass.) made 15 saves as the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team posted a key 15-10 Ivy League win over Yale on Wednesday.

The win pushed the Big Green's record to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in the Ivy League while the Bulldogs went to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

Yale scored the game's first two goals before the Big Green took control by reeling off six straight. Dartmouth held a 4-2 lead at halftime as junior Jamie Coffin (Greenwich, Conn.) scored two of his four goals in the second quarter.

After the break, junior Brad Heritage (Cheshire, Conn.) and sophomore Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.) scored for a four-goal Dartmouth lead before Yale tightened it to 6-4 with 8:13 to go in the third.

It was a game of streaks, however, and Dartmouth scored the next five, including a pair by junior Ryan Danehy (No. Billerica, Mass.), making it 11-4 early in the fourth period.

Goldstein, meanwhile, backstopped the Big Green while facing 37 Eli shots. Dartmouth outshot Yale, 44-37, as Bulldog goalkeeper George Carafides made 11 saves.

For the Big Green, Coffin also had three assists for a seven-point afternoon while Bonacci and senior Ben Grinnell (Waccabuc, N.Y.) each had two goals and two assists. Danehy and junior Alec Hufnagel (Scarsdale, N.Y.) also had a pair of goals.

The victory enabled Dartmouth to stay close to Cornell, who tops the Ivy race with a 4-0 slate.
