WEST POINT, N.Y. - Although it won the doubles point, the Dartmouth men's tennis team could not extend that success over into singles play and fell to Clemson, 5-2, on Sunday morning in a match played at Army. With the loss, Dartmouth falls to 2-3 on the season.
Junior Mark Brodie (Greensboro, N.C.) and sophomore Jeff Schechtman (Highland Park, Ill.) won at No. 2 doubles and senior Raj Shrestha (Katy, Texas) and freshman Ari Gayer (Hollis, N.Y.) won at No. 3 doubles to provide the Big Green with the early lead.
Gayer also registered a win in singles for Dartmouth, defeating Clint Boling, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. Junior captain Dave Waslen (Calgary, Alta.) and Brodie both lost in three sets.
Dartmouth will return to action on Saturday, February 4, when it hosts Colgate at 1:00 p.m.
