Dartmouth's Wallace Fifth at New England Golf
BREWSTER, Mass. -- Dartmouth junior
Jamie Wallace (Moorestown, N.J.) had the best finish for the men's golf team, tying for fifth at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship that concluded Tuesday.
Playing at the Captains' Course, Wallace posted 71-77--148 as the Big Green was tied for eighth among the 43 teams entered. With 588, Rhode Island won by 15 strokes over runner-up Sacred Heart as Dartmouth matched Trinity with 620.
Two strokes back of Wallace was senior
Matt Uretsky (Linwood, N.J.) with 71-79--150. He was tied for 11th.
Also competing for Dartmouth in the final tournament of the fall were freshman
Dave Putney (Unionville, Conn.), 80-78--158; sophomore
Rob Henley (Longmeadow, Mass.), 85-79--164; and junior
John Mitchell (Wilbraham, Mass.), 87-82--169.
