Hanover, N.H. – Three Dartmouth field hockey players earned All-Ivy league honors for their performances this past season.
Lizzie Bildner (Manchester, Mass.),
Whitney Waugh (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.) and
Megan Strout (St. Louis, Mo.) all represent the class of 2008's elite players in the Ivies.
Bildner, who led the Big Green squad in points this season with 19 on nine goals and one assist, is the lone first-team All-Ivy member wearing the Green. This is Bildner's second time being recognized by the league, as she was named to the second team All-Ivy league last year. Last season she was also named to the Second Team Regional All-America, and a member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Just behind Bildner in points this season was Waugh, the co-captain. Waugh finished the year with 13 points on five goals and three assists. This season Waugh was an honorable mention in the All-Ivy league. Waugh was named to the first-team All-Ivy league last season, when she scored career-high seven goals and added six assists. Last year, Waugh was also named Second Team Regional All-America, and a member of the NFHCA National Academic Squad, along with Bildner.
This is Strout's first time being recognized by the league, as she was voted an All-League honorable mention, along with teammate Waugh. This season, Strout recorded a career-high seven points, scoring one goal and assisting on five.
