Dartmouth Men's Lightweight Varsity Eight Finishes 6th at EARC Sprints

WORCESTER, Mass. - At the Eastern Sprints on Lake Quinsigamond, the Dartmouth men's lightweight varsity eight finished sixth in the grand final in a time of 6:02.7. Cornell won the race in a time of 5:53.2 to capture the Ivy League title.
In the second varsity lightweight eight race, Dartmouth qualified for the grand final and finished sixth in a time of 6:48.4, while the Big Red won the race in 6:20.6.
Navy dominated the third varsity lightweight eight race, taking the top two spots. The midshipmen's first crew covered the course in 6:41.8 and its next crew followed in 6:48.7. The Big Green was fifth in 7:06.1.
In the freshman lightweight eight race, Dartmouth took second in the petite final, good for eighth place overall. The Big Green clocked in at 6:47.5, while the Big Red won the petite final in 6:39.6.
Dartmouth will now prepare for the IRA National Championship which will be held June 1-3 in Camden, N.J.
