PHILADELPHIA, Pa. ? The Dartmouth (13-9, 6-6) women's volleyball team dropped its second match of the weekend, falling 3-0 to Penn on Saturday. Game scores were 20-30, 17-30, 20-30.
In the first game, the Quakers took a quick lead off six kills from Kathryn Turner. Turner finished with a .750 hitting percentage for the game. Dartmouth was held to a hitting percentage of .089 for the game.
The second game was even more dominating for Penn, as they pulled away to a 30-17 victory. The Big Green did not back down in the final game but Penn was relentless and once again prevented Dartmouth from topping 20 points.
The Big Green had no players in double-figures for kills. Sandy Barbut (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the day's effort with 12 digs while Jess Thomas (Tampa, Fla.) and Megan MacGregor (Carlsbad, Calif.) each had 10.
Dartmouth is back in action next week wrapping up the season at home. It will be senior weekend as the Big Green honors Katie Hirsch (Austin, Texas), Frances Samolowicz (St. Charles, Ill.) and Barbut. Dartmouth will take on Cornell on Friday with Columbia coming to Leede Arena on Saturday.
