Hanover, N.H.- The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team picked up its first victory of the season with a 155-145 win over Boston College tonight at Karl Michael Pool.
Impressive performances by divers Kathleen Brady (Upland, Calif.) and Bridget Duffey (Boxford, Mass.) helped the Big Green earn the win tonight. Brady, a sophomore, won the three meter event and took second in one meter while Duffey, a freshman, was first in the one meter and second in the three.
The 200 medley relay team of Carolyn Rippe (Colleyville, Texas), Heather Jankins (Raynham, Mass.), Virginia Selden (Birmingham, Ala.) and Liz Mancuso (Andover, Mass.) turned in its best time of the season to win that race for the Green.
Freshman Anna Sonstegard (Sioux Falls, S.D.) took first in 1000 yard freestyle and 500 yard freestyle while Jankins took home the 100 yard breaststroke. Selden edged Anna Smith by .04 seconds in the 200 yard butterfly, winning in 2:09.72, the tenth best performance all-time.
Mancuso came through for Dartmouth with wins in the 200 yard individual medley and 100 yard fly, finishing with the eighth best program time in 58.82
Dartmouth returns to action on Dec. 15-17 at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas Invitational.
