Chapel Hill, N.C. - It took a total team effort for the Dartmouth men's tennis team to knock off UNC-Greensboro, 5-2. The match was played on the campus of UNC Chapel Hill.
The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles team heroically brought home the doubles point to boost the Big Green's efforts.
In singles, the No. 4-No. 6 players, Justin Tzou, Steven McGaughey and Ari Gayer made quick work of their UNCG opponents locking down the match at 4-0. Dartmouth's No. 1 through 3 players were in tough fights with each splitting sets. Because the team match was locked down, the third sets were shelved in favor of 10-point breakers to determine winners. Of the three, only David Waslen, the Green's senior captain, came out a winner after fighting off a match point.
Dartmouth is on a nine match winning- streak with a 9-1 team match record to date. The next Men's match is Friday March 2 vs. Army at 3:30 pm at the Boss/Gordon Tennis Center.
