BoxscorePRINCETON, N.J. - Despite a career-high 17 saves by freshman netminder
Michael Novosel (Somers, N.Y.), the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team fell to No. 7 Princeton, 13-6, on Saturday.
Novosel backstopped the Big Green, playing all 60 minutes, as freshman
Ari Sussman (New Haven, Conn.) and senior
Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.) both scored two goals apiece.
After the Tigers (9-3 overall, 4-1 Ivy) took a 3-0 lead, Sussman scored with 44 seconds left in the first period to get Dartmouth on the board. Princeton answered midway through the second before Sussman got his second of the game with 6:05 left.
But Princeton scored five straight times for a 9-2 lead in the third and Dartmouth didn't get closer than a five-goal deficit the rest of the way.
Scoring one goal each for the Big Green were sophomore
Jimmy Mullen (Mt. Lebanon, Pa.) and sophomore Jon Livadas (Wilmington, Del.).
With the loss, the Big Green slipped to 4-9 overall, 1-4 in the Ivy League. Dartmouth looks to break a six-game losing streak on May 1, traveling to Holy Cross.
