Three Big Green Men's Lacrosse Players Named NEILA Scholar Athletes

HANOVER, N.H. -- Three members of the Big Green men's lacrosse team have been named to the 2007 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Scholar-Athlete team. The Scholar-Athlete team honors graduating seniors from schools in the NEILA, who have earned over a 3.0 grade point average and have excelled on the field. Covering all corners of the field, the three are attackman Nick Bonacci (Crofton, Md.), Midfielder Wilson Handler (Weston, Conn.) and defenseman Ryan O'Connor (Babylon, N.Y. ).

Wilson Handler

With 45 points, Bonacci was third among the Big Green's scorers with 25 goals and a team-high 20 assists. He was a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection in 2007, a first team All-Ivy selection in 2006 and an honorable mention pick in 2005.

With 158 career points, the economics major is Dartmouth's fifth all-time leading scorer. He was fourth in career assists (80) and 16th in career goals (78).

A four-year letterwinner at midfield for the Big Green, Handler played in fifteen games this spring, starting four. He finished tied for fourth on the team in scoring with 14 goals and two assists. Also majoring in economics, he tied for the team lead with five man-advantage goals.

Ryan O'Connor

O'Connor started all fifteen games this spring for the Big Green. He scored his only goal of the season in a 15-12 loss to Yale and had an assist at Virginia and two in a 16-10 win over Holy Cross. The 6-2 senior is also an economics major.
