Dartmouth Alum Jarrod Shoemaker Qualifies for 2008 Olympics

HANOVER, N.H. - Former Dartmouth track standout Jarrod Shoemaker '04, now specializing in the triathlon, has qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
As the first American finisher at the Beijing World Cup, Shoemaker earned the chance to represent the United States. He finished 11th overall.
As an undergraduate at Dartmouth, the 25-year-old Shoemaker (Sudbury, Mass.) won the 2002 Heptagonal cross country crown and qualified for both the NCAA cross country and outdoor track and field championships. As a high schooler, he was an outstanding swimmer and cross country performer at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High.
In September 2005, Shoemaker became the first American ever to take home a medal in the under-23 category of the World Cup triathlon.
