ORONO, Maine - With freshman
Tom Robbins (Evanston, Ill.) grabbing sixth place, the Dartmouth men's cross country team was second of nine squads competing at Saturday's Keatinge Invitational at Maine.
For the Big Green women's squad, senior
Susan Dunklee (Barton, Vt.) was 21st, and her team finished fifth.
Robbins turned in a time of 25:22.60 over the five mile course as Dartmouth placed its five runners in the top 16.
Senior
Harry Norton (North Reading, Mass.) was ninth in 25:36.60, and sophomore
Kevin Treadway was two spots back in 11th, clocking 25:39.80.
Juniors
Glenn Randall (Collbran, Colo.) and
Oliver Townsend (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) were 14th and 16th, respectively, as Dartmouth combined for 56 points. The University of New Hampshire topped the field with 36.
The Dartmouth women earned 169 points as Duke won the meet. Dunklee was timed in 18:21.00 over the 5k distance. Juniors
Aryn Gruneisen (Erie, Pa.) and
Caitlin Cunningham (Simsbury, Conn.) were 33rd and 34th.
Also scoring for the Big Green were senior
Lauren Moser (Croghan, N.Y.), 37th, and freshman
Andrea Imhof (San Francisco, Calif.), 44th.
The Big Green teams compete on Saturday, October 6 in the New England Championship at Boston's Franklin Park.
