HANOVER, N.H. ? Junior Chelsea Dodds (Hanover, N.H. ) gave the Dartmouth field hockey team its fourth Ivy League win, scoring the lone goal on penalty stroke for the 1-0 win over Harvard on Senior Day.
The defense was the story of the afternoon as the two teams combined for just 11 total shots with only five coming on goal. Harvard had a slim lead in penalty corners with a 2-1 advantage.
Dartmouth (6-9, 4-2 Ivy) had a couple of chances in the first half, but each time the ball would hit the back of the net it was called back because a foul was committed inside the half circle.
The Crimson (6-10, 2-4 Ivy) could only manage three shots during the game, only getting two on net. The lone good chance for Harvard came late in the second half as Kayla Romanelli drove the ball into the circle and fired a shot on net, but freshman Meagan Vakiener (Port Murray, N.J.) made one of her two saves to keep the game scoreless.
