Hanover, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team dropped a close one against Ivy foe Brown, 164-136, this afternoon at Karl Michael Pool.
Freshman
Erica Serpico (Moorestown, N.J.) stole the show on the diving boards again this week, handily winning the 3-meter with 280.80 points and 1 meter with 269.91 points.
The Big Green took home first-place finishes in three swimming events including the 200 yard medley relay, 100 yard breakstroke and 200 yard IM. For the 200 medley relay, the team of
Galen Barry (Wayne, Pa.),
Heather Jankins (Raynham, Mass.),
Kelsey Pinson (Portland, Ore.) and
Elizabeth Kamai (Corte Madera, Calif.) won in 1:50.7. Jankins won the 100 breaststroke in 1:07.79 while sophomore
Maddie Steiner (Dallas, Texas) won the 200 yard IM in 2:09.15.
Steiner finished second in the 200 yard freestyle in 1:52.53, just behind Brown's Allyson Shumacher, who set a pool record in 1:52.25. She was also second in the 100 yard freestyle in a close one, finishing in 53.57. Barry took second in the 100 and 200 backstroke in 1:00.65 and 2:08.09, respectively.
Virginia Selden (Birmingham, Ala.) took second in the 200 yard butterfly and Pinson was a close second in the 100 yard butterfl in 59.03.
Jankins took second in the 200 yard breaststroke in 2:26.10 and was second in the 50 yard freestyle in 24.68, leading a trio of Dartmouth swimmers finishing second through fourth. Lastly, the 400 freestyle relay team was second by just 0.37 seconds in 3:34.79. The team consisted of

Caitlin Nicholson (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Steiner.
The Big Green will return to action in the new year, hosting Vermont on January 10.
