HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team won its second consecutive 7-0 match this weekend as they downed Quinnipiac University this afternoon at the Alexis Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.
The Big Green won two out of the three doubles matches against the Bobcats, with juniors
Jennifer Murray (Abbotsford, B.C.) and
Danielle Murray (Abbotsford, B.C.) clinching at No. 3 to win the doubles point.
In singles, senior tri-captain
Catja Carrell (Benshelm, Germany) made quick work of her opponent at No. 6 winning 6-0, 6-1, and freshman
Georgiana Smyser (Houston, Texas) won by the identical score at No. 3. Senior tri-captain
Maggie Suydam (Marblehead, Mass.) won in straight sets at No. 4 as did sophomore
Julia Zak (Bernardsville, N.J.) at No. 5. Freshman
Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.) needed three sets to beat Mary Wilson at No. 1, but came on strong in the second and third sets winning 3-6, 6-1, 6-0. Freshman
Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) pulled out the final win for Dartmouth with a 7-6, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles.
The Big Green are now 5-0 on the year, and play the University of Massachusetts at home this Wednesday, February 20, at 5 p.m.
