Men's Tennis Takes Down Boston College

HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth men's tennis dominated play this evening in their 5-2 victory over Boston College.

Senior co-captains Jeffrey Schechtman (Highland Park, Ill.) and Mark Brodie (Greensboro, N.C.) led the way with an 8-4 victory in doubles. They were followed by the #2 team, with Daniel Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) and Ari Gayer (Hollis, N.Y.) playing exceptionally well, putting up an 8-3 victory.

In singles, BC's No. 1 player was no match for the solid performance of Brodie, who improved his season record to 9-3. Schechtman put the Green up 3-0 with his straight set victory at the No. 5 spot. Gayer, moving up to the No. 4 spot due to Freeman being unavailable singles, took out BC senior Jason Sechrist in a straight set, nailing down the Green victory with the fourth and deciding point.

All three of the matches left to play split sets. With the Green winning one of the three remaining matches, the final score was set at 5-2.

The win puts Dartmouth at 5-4 for the season. The next match on the Green's schedule will be at the LaJolla Beach and Tennis Club on March 16th against the University of Utah.
