ETNA, N.H. ? Big Green riders led the field on Saturday, April 12, as the equestrian team hosted the Dartmouth Classic at Morton Farm. At the end of the day, Dartmouth was the High Point College, although the invitational event does not count towards any year-end point totals.
The Big Green achieved no fewer than 10 first-place finishes in the event. Freshman Elizabeth Wilkerson had a particularly successful showing, taking first in both the Cross Rails and Novice Flat, and being named the Reserve High Point Rider for the day.
Other first-place finishes included captain
Daisy Freund (New York, N.Y.) and sophomore
Sam Parsons (Weston, Conn.) in the Open Flat, senior
Elizabeth Bissell (Bellevue, Wash.) and freshman Danielle Stacy (Ipswitch, Mass.) both in the Open Fences, and juniors
Amanda Watson (Charlottesville, Va.) and
Erica Anhalt (Guilford, Conn.) in the Intermediate Flat and the Walk Trot Canter respectively. Sophomore
Lucretia Witte was first in the Walk Trot, while freshman Susanna Kurnick (Penn Valley, Pa.) joined Anhalt at the top in the Walk Trot Canter.
The Big Green also took six second-place and five third-place finishes for the day. The equestrian team will make their next showing this weekend at the Ivy League Championships in Ithaca, N.Y. on April 19.
