ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. ? The Dartmouth men's golf team
fired an open round 626 as the Big Green competed on the first day of the Ivy
Championship at the par-72 Galloway National Golf Club.
Yale is atop the leaderboard after day one with a 36-hole
total of 295-300-595, while Dartmouth
is tied for seventh with a 316-310-626.
Senior Jamie Wallace (Moorestown,
N.J.) led the Big Green with an
opening round 80-73-153, which put him tied for the 18th position. Junior Rob
Henley (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished day one with a 76-82-158 for
a tie for 26th in the individual competition.
Dartmouth had three more
competitors, including freshman Davis Mullany (Great Barrington, Mass.) who
shot an opening round 78-80-158, while sophomore Dave Putney (Unionville, Conn.)
concluded his round with an 82-77-159. Classmate Dan Egan (Rye, N.Y.)
rounded out the Big Green golfers with his 83-80-163.
Dartmouth continues Play at the Ivy League Championships tomorrow morning with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m. from the Galloway National Golf Club.
