HANOVER, N.H. -
Attackman Ari Sussman (New Haven, Conn.) was chosen first team leading three Dartmouth men's lacrosse players on the All Ivy squads. Joining Sussman was defenseman Casey Hingtgen (Carlsbad, Calif.) who was selected second team and midfielder Chad Gaudet (Burlington, Mass.) was honorable mention. The honors are the first for Hingtgen and Gaudet.
Last year's Rookie of the Year, Sussman led the Big Green with 27 goals and 20 assists with 20 of his points coming in league games. He had two contests in which he notched six points, scoring four goals and two assists against Holy Cross while notching six helpers in a season-ending win over Harvard. He finished the season 25th in the nation and second in the league in points per game, scoring 3.15.
Hingtgen played in all 14 games for Dartmouth at defense. He recorded a goal, was second on the team in ground balls with 35 and was second in caused turnovers. The Big Green finished its season 14th nationally in man-up offense and was 17th in faceoff percentage. Hingtgen played a huge roll in Dartmouth's win over Princeton as he locked up Jack McBride, the Tigers third leading scorer.
With his play this season Gaudet moved from walk-on to a legitimate threat. He played all 14 games for the Big Green, leading his squad in faceoffs (.560) winning 144-of-257. He earned Turfer Athletic New England Division I Player of the Week honors after he helped Dartmouth to a win over Yale when he scored an unassisted goal and won 20-of-34 faceoffs while picking up 10 ground balls. He finished the season 17th nationally in faceoffs and tied for sixth with 5.79 groundballs per game, leading the team with 81.
