2008 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Baseball Teams

HANOVER, N.H. ? Senior shortstop Erik Bell (Sierra Madre, Calif.) has been selected to the 2008 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Second Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Bell was one of 12 to be selected to the second team. He is a mechanical engineering major here at Dartmouth and met the requirement of a 3.2 grade point average and a consistent contributor to the Big Green's success.

He was the starting shortstop for the Red Rolfe Division Champions in 41 games this season. Bell set career-highs in each offensive category this year, including 51 hits, 38 runs scored, 10 doubles, six homers and 34 runs batted in. He also batted 50 points higher than his career average this season with a .305 batting average.
