HANOVER, N.H. ? Former co-captain
Damon Wright (Dallas, Texas) and junior
Nick Santomauro (North Caldwell, N.J.) were both selected to the All-Northeast Second Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
Wright, who was recently selected in the MLB draft by the San Francisco Giants, finished his Dartmouth career with his best season in four years with the Big Green. He has already been named a unanimous first team All-Ivy selection as well as being named All-New England. Wright posted a team-high .397 batting average, along with nine homers and 39 runs batted in.
Santomauro, like Wright, continued to rack up the awards after another great season. He was named first team All-Ivy and All-New England for the second consecutive year. Santomauro was the best offensive player for the Big Green as he tied the Dartmouth record for homers in a season with 11, including four in the three-game Ivy Championship series with Columbia. He also led Dartmouth in runs batted in with 45 and runs scored with 44.
