Hanover, N.H. - The Dartmouth lightweight crew will be well represented at the upcoming World Rowing Championships and U23 World Rowing Championships this month.
Former rowers Jon Nichols '01, Matt Muffelman '03 will participate in the World Championships in Linz, Austria from July 22-27. Nichols, who resides in Boston, Mass., will be the stroke of the lightweight men's pair while Muffelman, who trains in Princeton, N.J., will stroke the lightweight men's eight. While at Dartmouth, Nichols and Muffelman were part of the 2001 varsity eight that finished second at Eastern Springs and third at the IRA National Championships.
Fahden, who graduated from Dartmouth in June, will row in the lightweight straight four at the U23 World Championships in Brandenburg, Germany from July 17-20. Fahden was the stroke for the 2007 varsity eight that won the Eastern Sprints and Ivy League titles in 2007. He will be joined in Brandenburg by lightweight head coach Steve Perry who will serve as assistant coach of the women's eight.
