Santomauro Named to NECBL All-Star Roster

HANOVER, N.H. ? Dartmouth baseball junior Nick Santomauro (North Caldwell, N.J.) has been selected to represent the Newport (R.I.) Gulls in the 15th Annual New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game.

Santomauro is playing in his first season in the NECBL and has appeared in 25-of-29 games for the Gulls. He is batting .273 with two round-trippers and 11 runs batted in. Santomauro has also added 24 hits, 16 runs and leads Newport with eight doubles. The Gulls enter the All-Star break with a 15-14 record, which puts them in second place in the Southern Division of the NECBL.

The NECBL is a wooden-bat summer collegiate baseball league that started in 1994 and currently has 12 teams in two divisions and all six New England states.

The game will take place in Torrington, Conn., on July 20th at 6:00 p.m. In addition to the game, the NECBL has announced they will be having a skills competition. The competition will feature the Most Accurate Arm, Fastest Runner and the Home Run Derby.
