HANOVER, N.H. - This fall, thousands of teams from around the country will be participating in the DiG PiNK National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally. The Dartmouth women's volleyball team will be having its own DiG PiNK game on Friday, Oct. 16 versus Ivy League foe Penn.
The high school and college teams participating will be promoting breast health education in the community as well as raising funds to help eradicate breast cancer.
Dartmouth fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and watch members of the Big Green wear pink while on the court. Wearing pink will contribute to breast health awareness and show your support for Dartmouth women's volleyball.
To help the cause the Big Green will be auctioning off an iPod shuffle for $1.00 a ticket as well as giving pink ribbons to all fans that attend. The drawing for the iPod will be at the end of the second game. All proceeds will benefit the Side-Out Foundation which has raised thousands of dollars for breast cancer research nationally through volleyball tournament, rallies and clinics. Pink shirts can be purchased through the Side-Out Foundations website at www.side-out.org.
