Dartmouth Squash Teams Continue to Win Early in the Season

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams continue to win early in the season as both squads defeated Franklin & Marshall on Sunday afternoon at F&M's Mayser Center. The men ran their record to 3-0 while the women picked up their first win of the year.

For the women, Dartmouth dominated the home team, defeating F&M, 9-0. Valeria Wiens (Hanover, N.H.) helped lead the way with a 3-0 win at the top spot as every position won in three games. Like the men's team, freshmen were prevalant for the women's squad as four Big Green rookies were in the lineup, getting their first wins of the season.

On the men's side only four matches went longer than three games as the Big Green were victorious, 7-2. Freshman Chris Hanson (Greenwich, Conn.) played in the top spot for Dartmouth, defeating Gabriel de Melo in five. Besides Hanson, the Big Green had three rookies in the lineup as Robbie Maycock (Bermuda) and Alex Kruth (Tenafly, N.J.) also won at their respective spots.

Both Dartmouth squash teams have their first test of the season with an Ivy League matchup against Harvard on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Berry Sports Center.
