HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team won its third straight match downing Wellesley College 7-0 this afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion.
The match marked the return of former Big Green assistant, Brian Kuscher, who is in his first year as Wellesley's head coach. Dartmouth moves to 4-6 on the season, while Wellesley is 0-1.
Dartmouth won the doubles point, getting wins at No. 1 from junior tri-captain Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) and freshman Carissa King (Charlotte, N.C.), and at No. 3 from junior Carley Markovitz (South Pasedena, Calif.) and senior tri-captain Jamie Caplan (Oakton, Va.), who made her 2009 debut.
Sophomore Molly Scott recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1. Junior tri-captain Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while sophomore Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head, S.C.) dropped just one game at No. 3. King didn't lose a game at No. 4 singles, and sophomore Ashley Mitchell (Charleston, S.C.) made quick work of her opponent at No. 5. Freshman Shelley Carpeni (New York, N.Y.) also won handily at No. 6 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
