HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team lost a 4-3 heartbreaker to No. 58 Brown at the Boss Tennis Center and Gordon Pavilion this afternoon. The Big Green got singles wins from sophomore Molly Scott (Trabuco Cyn, Calif.), junior Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) and sophomore Ryan Reichel (Hilton Head Island, S.C.), but the loss of the doubles point proved critical as the Bears edged the Big Green. Dartmouth is now 8-13 (2-4 Ivy League), while Brown moves to 19-4 (5-2 Ivy League).

The doubles point was hotly contested, going down to the No. 3 match. Scott and junior tri-captain Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.) were nipped 9-7 at No. 1 by Bianca Aboubakare and Cassandra Herzberg. Adler and sophomore Georgiana Smyser (Houston, Texas) won 8-6 at No. 2, while junior Julia Zak (Bernardsville, N.J.) and freshman Carissa King (Charlotte, N.C.) were narrowly defeated 8-6 at No. 3.

At No. 1 singles Scott, downed Bianca Aboubakare in a third set super-breaker, 3-6, 7-5, 10-5. Adler cruised past Tanja Vucetic 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3, and Reichel defeated Carissa Aboubakare in a third set super-breaker at No. 5.

Dartmouth returns to action at Harvard in their final Ivy League match of the spring on Wednesday, April 22, at 3 p.m.
