Stenquist Named Dartmouth's Top Junior Scholar Athlete

The Dartmouth College Department of Athletics presented its annual awards on Monday, March 18 and junior Derek Stenquist (Hudson, Mass.) was honored with the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award.
The award is given “to one male and one female of the junior class, who have combined outstanding performance in athletics and significant achievement in academics.”
Stenquist was praised for both his prowess on the field, where he started 15 of 18 games played for the Ivy Champions in midfield and his success in the classroom, where he has posted a 3.64 gpa in biology. This past winter he studied marine biology in Costa Rica during a Dartmouth off-term.
Stenquist has also been a part of two NCAA Tournament teams at Dartmouth and is active on campus and in community service.
