HANOVER, N.H. - Senior Jimmy Mullen (Mt. Lebanon, Pa.) has been chosen to represent the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team at the 68th annual United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association North/South Game at Harvard Stadium.
Mullen was a key player for the Big Green at midfield all season long and with junior Ari Sussman (New Haven, Conn.) out in the first part of the season, he had to step up and provide offense for Dartmouth. Mullen finished with 15 goals and three assists for 18 points this season. He was named Ivy League Player of the Week back on Feb. 23. He scored four goals in the season opener against Hartford, including the game-winner with six seconds left in overtime to give the Big Green an 11-10 win. He carried the offense with six goals and an assist in the first three games and he ended up posting five multi-goal games.
The North/South Game is made up of the best players from around the country in Division I and II, along with a second game with Division III talent. The first game came back in 1940 at Municipal Stadium in Baltimore and since then the two regions have faced off 67 times.
The games will take place at Harvard Stadium on Friday May 22 (Memorial Day Weekend) as part of a tripleheader. The Division III game will be played at 2 p.m. and the Division I/II game will be played at 4 p.m. followed by the Boston Cannons game vs. the Denver Outlaws at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for all three games are available by calling the Cannons ticket office at 617-746-9933 or by visiting www.bostoncannons.com.
