Men's Lacrosse All-Ivy Release
HANOVER, N.H. - Junior Casey Hingtgen (Carlsbad, Calif.) earned second team All-Ivy as a long stick defender for the Dartmouth men's lacrosse team, it was announced on Wednesday.
Hingtgen was hobbled by a leg injury early in the season, playing in only one game in the first eight contests for the Big Green before starting the final seven games of the season. He finished with one goal, which came against Penn in a 9-6 loss, and 16 ground balls. He was also called to the X four times, winning two face-offs.
The score against Penn opened the scoring for Dartmouth in the first quarter and its was one of only two goals that long-stick defenders scored this season for the Big Green. Junior Andrew Pollack (South Glastonbury, Conn.) was the other defender to score for Dartmouth this year.
Hingtgen has now played in 37 career games for Dartmouth with 34 starts on defense and he has four goals total in three years. He started his career as a long-stick midfielder and has made the jump back to defense, becoming a shut down defender in his two years at the back of the lineup. This is the second-straight year he has earned All-Ivy honors as he was selected first team All-Ivy a year ago at the same position.
