HANOVER, N.H. — Junior Davis Mullany (Great Barrington, Mass.) followed up a three-over 73 in the first round of The McLaughlin hosted by St. John's University with a one-under 69, putting him in a tie for 14th individually as Dartmouth ended the day in seventh place out of 18 squads with a 575 (+15) on Friday.
Senior Dave Putney (Unionville, Conn.) finished just two strokes behind Mullany with a pair of two-over 72s, while defending Ivy champion Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.) and freshman James Pleat (Nashua, N.H.) both carded five-over 145s on the day. Sophomore Teddy Overton (Paradise Valley, Ariz.) shaved three strokes off his first-round 76 in the second round to post a 149.
Leading the pack was UNC Wilmington which finished the day four strokes under par (556). The Seahawks' Stefan Brewer is tied atop the individual leaderboard with a 5-under 135 (68-67) with St. John's Evan Beirne (69-66).
The third and final round of the tournament will be played on Saturday.
