BOSTON, Mass. – The Dartmouth men's track and field team had 11 athletes earn top five finishes, led by freshman
Barret Folk (Memphis, Tenn.) who took first in the pole vault this afternoon.
Folk was the lone event winner for the Big Green after clearing the bar at 4.71 meters (15-05.50). Dartmouth also had two others earn top five finishes in the same event as senior
Ken DiCairano (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and sophomore
Ian McAfee (Nashua, N.H.) earned fourth and fifth place, respectively.
In other field events, senior captain
Ted Lesher (Upper Saddle River, N.J.) took third in the triple jump at 6.79 meters (22-03.50), while senior captain
Michael Poppler (Metairie, La.) wasn't far behind in fifth with a mark of 6.71 meters (22-00.25). Junior
David Irving (Manchester, N.H.) continues to impress this indoor season in the weight throw. He finished second in the event today with a toss of 17.8 meters (58-04.75).
Senior captain
Muhammed Abdul-Shakoor (Stone Mountain, Ga.) and freshman
Connor Reilly (New York, N.Y.) kept their rivalry going in the 55 meter dash. Abdul-Shakoor got the best of Reilly this time with a finish of 6.5 seconds, while Reilly was two-tenths behind at 6.52. Abdul-Shakoor also competed in the 200 meters and took sixth with a time of 21.86 seconds.
Freshman
Anthony Romaniw (Hamilton, Ont.) ran in the 800 meters and finished in the third spot with a time of 1:51.02. Junior
Ben Bramhall (Plymouth, Mass.) came through in the 800 meters to place third as well at 2:28.27, while sophomore
John Turro (Katonah, N.Y.) came in fifth at 2:28.37.
Next up for the Big Green is the Dartmouth Indoor Classic next Saturday at Leverone Field House.
