MADISON, CONN. — The Dartmouth men's cross country team finished fourth (138 points) at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Saturday, and will have to wait to find out if it will receive an at-large bid for the National Championship. The top two squads from the region automatically qualified to the next stage. Syracuse won the event with 56 points and Iona finished second (63 points). Providence who finished third (113 points) also will be hoping for an at-large bid.
Junior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine) had the best time for the Big Green squad, placing 18th (30:25.6). Sophomore Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) was right behind him in 19th at 30:31.2. Senior Tom Robbins (Evanston, Ill.) crossed the finish line in 24th (30:42.5), Adam Doherty (Lagrangeville, N.Y.) finished 33rd (30:58.0) and Jonathan Gault (Bedford, Mass.) rounded out the scoring in 44th (31:15.3).
The NCAA selection at-large bids will be released at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 14.
