MADISON, CONN. — The Dartmouth women's cross country team finished in eighth place (271 points) at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship on Saturday. Syracuse won the event with 78 points, Stony Brook placed second (83 points) and Providence finished third (87 points). It is the highest the the Big Green have finished at the event since placing fifth in 2004.
Freshman Hannah Rowe (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) had the best time for the Big Green in 37th place (21:17.0). Junior Amy Schuman (Lee, N.H.) was right on her heels in 38th place with a time of 21:17.4. Freshman Catie Meyer (Boston, Mass.) crossed the line in 48th (21:25.8). Freshman Bridget End (Summit, N.J.) and Elizabeth Short (North Reading, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Dartmouth.
The top individual performer was Lucy Van Dalen of Stony Brook with a time of 19:38.4. The top two teams in the event qualified for nationals.
