HANOVER, N.H. — The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced its all-region recipients on Monday and the Dartmouth men's team had three runners earn the honor. Junior Ethan Shaw (Falmouth, Maine), sophomore Phil Royer (Portsmouth, R.I.) and senior Tom Robbins (Evanston, Ill.) all finished in the top 25 at the regional meet to qualify for the award.
At the Regional Championship, Shaw had the best time for the Big Green squad, placing 18th (30:25.6). Royer was right behind him in 19th at 30:31.2, and Robbins crossed the finish line in 24th (30:42.5). Dartmouth finished the event in fourth place overall behind Syracuse, Iona and Providence. Syracuse and Iona automatically qualified for the national meet and Providence earned an at-large selection.
It is the second time Shaw and Robbins have earned the honor. Both were named to the all-region team last year.
The men's indoor and outdoor track and field season begins on January 7, when the Big Green host the Dartmouth Relays.
