HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 4-0 by knocking off No. 69 Boston University 4-3 at the Boss Tennis Center this afternoon.
The Big Green got singles wins from junior Molly Scott (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.), freshman Sarah Leonard (Norwalk, Conn.), and seniors Jesse Adler (Winnetka, Ill.) and Mary Beth Winingham (Carmel, Ind.), who clinched the win for Dartmouth.
Scott and Winingham continued their winning ways at No. 1 doubles, cruising to an 8-1 victory to remain undefeated. But the Terriers took the point by capturing No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
In singles the Big Green dominated at No. 1 and No. 2, as Scott and Leonard both dropped only two games. Winingham and Adler both battled back from first set deficits to put the final two points on the board for Dartmouth. Winingham defeated the Terriers' star freshman recruit from Hungary, Vivien Laszloffy, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3, and at No. 4 Adler downed BU's other freshman recruit, Jessi Linero, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0.
Dartmouth returns to action again at home tomorrow against St. John's University at 10 a.m.
