HANOVER, N.H. — In preparation for the NCAA Regionals which won't begin for more than three weeks, the Dartmouth baseball team has scheduled a pair of games this week to keep its collective skills sharp. The Big Green will host Castleton State at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park on Friday at 3 p.m., then will travel to Boston College on Sunday to play the Eagles at 12:30 p.m.
Admission is free for the game on Friday, and the contest will be streamed — both audio and video — live on the official web site of Dartmouth Athletics, DartmouthSports.com.
Dartmouth (25-16), champions of the Rolfe Division, won the Ivy League title and the conference's automatic berth for the regionals this past weekend by defeating Columbia, the Gehrig Division champion, in New York in a best-of-three championship series. After losing the first game, 13-2, the Big Green rebounded to take the second and third games by scores of 15-10 and 11-5.
This is the second straight Ivy crown for Dartmouth and will be its seventh trip to an NCAA Regional. The Big Green have advanced to the College World Series in Omaha once in the program's history, that coming in 1970.
